Description
Säby Perstorp is located in a fairytale forest - the area, extremely hilly for Småland, with often steep climbs, winding paths, here and there interspersed with ancient stone walls and always near the lake, is gnarled, more lonely than other parts of Smaland, enchanted and peculiar, it reminds you many to Värmland.
There are blueberries, cranberries, currants, gooseberries, raspberries, apples and pears on about 3000 square meters of land. In autumn the forest is littered with chanterelles and the boletus called Carl Johann (after the old Swedish king who loved these mushrooms). We have an old maple and a huge pine.
The neighboring house can only be seen vaguely from the rear part of the garden (approx. 150 meters), it is the only one in a long distance and: the cul-de-sac is only used by the neighbor (if he is there - that's just his summer house) and us / you ... the calm is overwhelming. Sometimes this is done by the sheep grazing around the house. With a cautious curiosity, the animals like to come to the fence and be petted.
Säby Perstorp was built in the late 1800s and lovingly expanded and renovated.
The house consists of a hallway from which the bathroom with shower and toilet goes off.
There is a kitchen-cum-living room with modern appliances and an old wood stove where you can bake pizza, for example. From the kitchen you come to the lower bedroom with double bed (2x90x200), bedside tables, chest of drawers, old kitchen stove but also 2 electric heaters.
You can almost go into the approximately 30 m² living room. Here is the dining table with 6-8 chairs, a sofa bed for 1-2 people, 2 armchairs and a large, open fireplace, a television with German satellite programs and a DVD player and reading corner.
The upper floor consists of bedrooms, two bed spaces (all mattresses and duvets are new) and then the large common room - here is a brand new table football (2019), there is a tournament dartboard and a game table with 6 chairs.
Our shed is in front of the house, behind the first door from the path you can find the firewood, and the 6 bikes that were serviced at the beginning of the season are also here. Our yellow Canadian is nearby on Skärsjön. Paddles and life jackets for kids are in the shed.
Somewhat apart, to the right of the house and almost in the middle of the sheep pasture, is the old wash house, today's new sauna with relaxation room.
The sauna has benches at 2 heights and a small lounger.

Private provider Show map Infos about the region Småland
No other historical province of Sweden is probably as well known as Småland. This is partly because of the immense popularity of the childrens' books of Astrid Lindgren, who allowed many of her stories to take place there, where she grew up herself. Småland has more to offer though than the idyll of Katthult
While the vast majority of the stories in Lönneberga or the children of Noisy Village are known, few know about the highly interesting history of this historic province. This once consisted of many small areas (in Swedish: små land). They had the right on own legal systems and assemblies. This evolved into the areas differences and quirks that are still characteristic for the region: The historical Småland is now divided into five provinces Jönköping län, Kalmar län Kronoberg, Halland and Östergötlands län. Småland is located in the southern part of Sweden, extending from the Baltic coast to the northwest by the Vättern lake. It borders to the historic provinces of Skåne and Blekinge in the south and to Östergötland, Västergötland and Halland in the north west. As different as the regions is the nature of Småland: Extensive coniferous forests interspersed with large swamps, and again there are many smaller and larger lakes. Just as we know it from the film adaptations of the childrens' books of Astrid Lindgren. Småland is not only famous as the scene of Astrid Lindgren's stories, which can be admired at the amusement park "Astrid Lindgren's World" in Vimmerby. Småland is also known for its glass factories. In the Kingdom of Crystal (Swedish: Glasriket) around the city of Växjö you can visit the glass blowers craft in 14 active glass blowing workshops, and exhibitions of glass art invite you to admire the crafts. Other cities well worth a visit are for example Jönköping and Oskarshamn. So visit the varied Småland and you enter into the idyllic scenery of the stories of Astrid Lindgren, in typically Scandinavian nature and the fascinating world of glass art!
