Charming old farmhouse in the tranquil forests of Dalsland

Set amidst peaceful nature with beautiful views of the surrounding forests and fields, this lovely 18th century holiday home is located in Dalsland/Middle Sweden. Tastefully renovated in 2008, the house offers all modern conveniences including highspeed internet whilst maintaining its old world charm.

On the ground floor, a welcoming living room boasts wooden floors and a tiled stove. The pleasantly decorated adjoining kitchen is fully equipped and includes a beautiful old wood stove that has been carefully preserved from former days. Upstairs, there are two spacious bedrooms, offering a total indoor living space of 100 square meters.

From the living room, there is a lovely terrace with comfortable garden furniture and a large grill. Once a traditional Swedish farmstead, the property also includes a timbered annex.

Completely tranquil and private, the house is located in the middle of a large property of about 7000 square meters. The surrounding forests are rich in berries and chanterelles, and it is not uncommon to spot elk emerging from the woods.

Nearby, the "Kroppefjäll" nature reserve offers beautiful lakes and hiking trails, perfect for walkers, joggers or mountain bikers. A wonderful opportunity for fresh water swimming is located just one kilometer away at Lake "Bollungesjön". Or you might want to push further afield to Lake Vänern, just 15 kilometers away and the largest lake in Sweden, where salmon fishing is possible.

In nearby Brålanda (10 kilometers), you will find a supermarket as well as other conveniences and restaurants.

Fire wood for the grill and the fireplace as well as two older bicycles are included in the rental charges. For younger children a crib, a highchair and a sand box are available.

Please note that pets are not permitted due to the owners' allergies.

Infos about the region Dalsland

Dalsland is a relatively small province whose extent from the north to south measures 99 km and from east to west 59 km. It is located in western Sweden, with only one place that might be described as a city: Åmal, even though the population doesn't quite match up to the required 10 000 people that the Swedish Board of Statistics (SCB) calls for.
It is believed that Dalsland belonged to Norway until about the year 1000 AD, but this is not sure. However, the region is popular among our neighbors in the west!
Despite its size, the landscape is sometimes referred to as a "Sweden in miniature", then it has a highly variable nature. The province's largest lake is Lake Vänern. The Dalslands channel is a channel that allows boat traffic between Lake Vänern and parts of the lake system in Dalslands interior and southwestern of Värmland. The channel crosses the famous aqueduct in Håverud and is in the summer (season June-August) a much visited tourist destination, both for sailing boats, motor boats and canoes.
